There was some talk of crazy 80's things on nancies today..
"Miss Suzy had a steam boat, and that steamboat had a bell.. Miss Suzy went to heaven and the steamboat went to hell~o operator , give me #9, and if you disconnect me I will slap your behind~the frigerator there was a piece of glass Miss Suzy sat upon it and it went right up her~ask me know more questions, tell me know more lies, the boys are in the bathroom and there pulling down there~flies are in the meadow, cows are in the corn, boys and girls are kissing in the D A R K, D A R K, D A R K darkdarkdark!!!"
Remember this, we mastered it... I mean we spent hour upon endless hour at girlscout camp learning this intracte hands-slapping-motion type thing to go along with the quarky lyrics.. if you don't know about this, this was our "white-ghetto-wannabe" attempt at the jumprope rhyming of the 80's city kids( not that I know ANYTHING about 80's city kids, or any city kids for that matter, but we thought we were super cool doing our rhyming!)I also learned the essential game of SPIT @ camp, Texas-Hold-em' has nothin' on this game of fast paced, one handed solitare-only-with-two-people. My sister and I have spent many an hour in recent years playing games of SPIT and WAR while our men-folk played playstation! Sadly, she must have had a good teacher in her big-sis, because she usually kicked my arse!!
There are so many things that were GREAT about the 80's, of course, back then we thought we led such a boring life we just might be the first generation wiped off the face of the earth being atually BORED TO DEATH:) Now, though.. I have countless novel-length emails with my friend Danielle (we will soon celebrate our 25 years of friendship, since we started Kindergarden in 1980..eeeek!)about our antics and shennanigans in that decade known as the Hair-Band era! Aqua net, florecent clothes, slouch socks, acid washed jeans--- hell WE had Silver Spoons& Punky Brewster~~ think about.... we were having the "Time of our lives" weren't we!!!

Can you believe I had a perm! lol
Ahhhh, the 80's. A time I will never forget and pray that fasion does not come back around.
I'm sure out kids will one day think the same thing about these years
Oh, but 80's fashions ARE coming back. All of a sudden all these Hillary Duffs and Mandy Moores in Hollywood are wearing leggings with the baggy shirts with a belt over it!
Geez, I remember being so jealous of the girls who had crimped hair. My mom never let me do it. I felt so uncool!
Micheal... my brother had the long hair/ perm combo as well.. in fact half the kids in JR high did, what a funny look if you think abooot it!! I really think THAT won't come back(or hope so at least!)
Jennifer... my kids already have looked at my yearbook and commented on the big hair and mullets.. hell, not commented, LAUGHED.. they already think our fashions were horrid!!
Rosalie.. on D*ans Dirt I saw Hillary Duff, or Lindsay Lohan in a HORRID NUMBER, cutoff shorts, a long baggy shirt and belt with heels, STRAIGHT OUT OF 85.. it was BAD, REAL BAD... HOW did we wear such things?? and the crimping thing, I did it a bit, but it KILLED my hair so my mom wouldn't let me after a few times either:(
