~~ I have been told i am a smartass a time or two, or three... or MANY. But I never consider myself that way... more a witty one with a great sense of humore that other people don't always get (read-- there problem not mine syndrome!) But I wonder when it is a quick-witted comment becomes a down-right insult when not intended to be so and how to go about remedying the situation? A quick slip-o'-thy-tounge can cause unmendable damage to ones soul, or at the very least ego and a few stumbling words of non-heart-felt condolenses just doesn't seem to do the trick... this is always realized just after the words leave your mouth(open-mouth-insert-foot) and all you want to do is rwind time and take it all back yet it doesn't work that way. Then you are left red-faced and embarrased and so is the recipient of the words you would like to refund....
Why can't it all be like in court where you can just advise the person to strike the statement from the record and the world can all be better again... (at least until the NEXT time) ... ugh:(
